General Wildlife Rehabilitation Training

In addition to educating rehabilitators, veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, and animal control officers about bat rehabilitation, Bat World Sanctuary has partnered with experts in general wildlife rehabilitation to offer training in the North Texas area. Available classes are as follows with payment options below this list.

bn005:  Wildlife Rehabilitation Skills Workshop: Introduction to Wildlife Rehabilitation – this 4-hour workshop introduces students to wildlife rehabilitation through lecture, discussion, and structured lab activities. Topics include defining wildlife rehabilitation, goals of wildlife rehabilitation, state and federal regulations and permitting requirements, health risks, and resources. Click here for details.

kr001:  Wildlife Rehabilitation Basics: Well Baby Care – this 2-day workshop covers basic wildlife rehabilitation skills, from handling calls about wildlife and intake procedures through release, for healthy orphaned small mammals (i.e. squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, opossums). kr002:  Wildlife Rehabilitation Basics: Advanced Topics – this 2-day workshop covers more complex wildlife rehabilitation cases, including pain and wound management, infectious and zoonotic diseases, parasites, working with veterinarians, and euthanasia. Click here for details.

kr003:  Wildlife Rehabilitation Skills Workshop: Raccoon Care – this 4-hour workshop focuses on raising orphaned raccoons for release. Topics include feeding techniques, diet, enrichment, housing, and release criteria. Click here for details.
